Our Risk Management team enables responsible growth through close collaboration with the business to protect EY from the risks that arise from its professional practice. The team works with the business to identify, monitor and manage EY's risk, providing coordinated advice and assistance on independence, conflicts, compliance, regulatory, policy, security and risk management issues, as well as effectively managing ethics-related claims and queries. Through oversight of key risk processes, Risk Management helps to minimize the threat of litigation, avoid regulatory enforcement and limit damage to our reputation. LondonThe Global independence team is responsible for the application and oversight of independence policies and practices across the whole of EY. This position will involve working with the Global independence team with a focus on the EMEIA region. The role will involve providing advisory and consulting support to client service or infrastructure teams to make certain that relationships with clients, vendors and others are in line with firm Independence and Risk Management (RM) policies and associated regulatory requirements. The role will have a specific focus on new services/ products/tools being developed and rolled out across the business such as analytics, blockchain and other digital offerings. The role will involve interaction with executive level personnel (EMEIA and globally), liason across broad service and industry lines and the ability to apply independence rules and regulations to all areas of the business. The individual will serve as an ambassador for Independence.The opportunityThe role offers the opportunity for a varied and exciting workload and the successful candidate will have involvement in complex RM/Independence projects or significant aspects of highly complex projects. Working at a Global level will afford a unique overview across all areas of the business and the chance for in depth involvement in both service line and firmwide activities. The role is not static and will expand as required to address the independence risks to the firm as the business continues to grow. The position offers a varied and challenging opportunity for career progression and significant personal development. Ideally the candidate would be London based but as we function as a virtual team, location can be flexible.The focus of the role is on Alliances and Ecosystem relationships but may also include activities such as consultations, evaluation of new services or service delivery mechanisms, evaluation of tools, development and delivery of training, support for new audit wins, analysis of firmwide initiatives and programmes, liason with the Country and Regional Independence teams and will develop into other areas as the firm continues to grow. Your key responsibilitiesWorking with the Global Independence - Alliance and Ecosystem Relationship teams, the role will entail the following activities:Perform due diligence on firm's proposed Alliances and Ecosystem relationships, working closely with other key workstreams including Alliances leadership, Service Line Quality (SLQ), GCO, Area Corporate Development Officer (CDO), Regional/Area RM Leaders and business teamsWork closely with the business teams, Counterparties and across all workstreams on Independence due diligence Participate in exploratory discussions with teams to discuss business cases for potential Alliances and Ecosystems relationships, specifically focusing on Risk Management and Independence considerationsPerform initial evaluation of Alliances and Ecosystem Relationships proposed and address any initial Risk Management and Independence considerationsPerform initial review of legal documents focusing on Risk Management and Independence considerations (including teaming agreements, alliance agreements, local country agreements, etc.Monitor Independence compliance for all approved Alliances & Ecosystem relationships, including performing required data analysis and first level independence review of compliance itemsProvide teams and GDS with guidance and prepare training materials, including monitoring within the SharePoint toolThe individual should have the ability toInvolve, as appropriate country, regional and Global independence resources and others to discuss and resolve highly complex situations and issues. Manage internal client relationships Understand key requirements of regulators' independence rules and firm policies, and is knowledgeable about RM areas outside of independence. Identify emerging risks and proposes solutions to address these. Involvement in training on independence and related mattersDevelop a high level of general technical knowledge and keeps abreast of emerging knowledge, trends and lessons learned regarding Independence, Risk Management and related areas. Assist in the resolution and reporting of independence breachesSkills and attributes for successKnowledge of firm independence policies and regulators' rules Familiarity with other RM initiatives outside of specific Independence area Desire to learn and develop new skillsRequires an understanding of relevant firm business Demonstrates pro-activity and thought leadership around specific disciplines Ability to think strategically and handle complex concepts.
