The UK Retail Finance team has an opening for an experienced, highly analytical, and ambitious individual to join our team in London as an FP&A Finance Analyst.We are looking for a smart and creative individual to deliver robust and structured reporting, improve the Retail planning process and implement new and improved processes throughout the organisation. The continued growth of the business and the increasing complexity driven by new launches and services make this role an exciting, interesting and challenging proposition. Expect to get involved in supporting new projects and initiatives, driving performance, building plans for the future, as well as managing regular reporting and forecasting. You will drive financial controllership and work with accounting to ensure the results of the business are properly recorded.The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, is analytical, and is detail oriented. You will possess the ability to work well in cross-functional teams across the EU and North America.Key responsibilities include:
• Analysing key trend/variances and production of monthly/quarterly/ad hoc reporting to the UK Country Manager, Finance Director, and Product Family Leadership.
•
• Establishing strong relationships across the global FP&A community, utilising the network to share best practice and drive efficiency in process.
•
• Analysing and explaining current and historic performance, providing effective commercial business challenge to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are achieved or beaten.
•
• Continuous development of efficient reporting tools and processes to support decision-making, ensuring usage of the various existing systems and datasets available within Amazon and driving development of new solutions.
•
• Leading and providing analytical support on a range of ad-hoc / cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives.
•
• Supporting and influencing internal customer groups in all finance and accounting matters including budgeting, forecasting, expense tracking and control.Basic qualifications- Strong Excel skills- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Ability to work successfully in an ambiguous environment- Ability to take initiative and self-start when necessary- Ability to build and manage financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis and problem solving.- Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to develop ideas independently, and to multitask as needed in a fast-paced environment.Preferred qualification - Accounting qualification (ICAS/ICAEW,/ACCA etc) or MBA- Former experience in an FP&A role would be of significant benefit- Experience with Cognos- Knowledge of SQL
