Overview Our National Pensions Team based in Guildford has over 200 pension scheme clients ranging from large DB schemes with assets of up to £1bn to small self-administered schemes. Due to a significant period of growth, our Pensions business are looking for Audit Semi Seniors and Seniors to join the team in Guildford or Gatwick.As an Audit Semi Senior or Senior, you will be responsible for running audits and working directly with clients, with the support of the Audit Manager. You will be working independently on mid-sized complex pension schemes and running a team on large audits, directly to ensure high quality audits are delivered in a timely manner.As a rapidly growing part of our business various future progression opportunities are expected to be available for ambitious candidates. Responsibilities
• Take responsibility for the all areas of the audit assignment for manager or partner review
• Produce fully completed work clearly highlighting issues and solutions
• Active engagement and communication with senior client staff, scheme administrators and trustees
• Manage, coach and develop junior members of staff within the team
• Compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory)requirements
• Effective project management, to ensure several audit assignments running concurrently are completed in a timely manner and all outstanding information managed
• Supervise and train junior staff and review their work on assignments
• Assist and work with the managers on the pre-planning and finalisation aspects of the auditassignments and general client communications and relationship management
• Involvement in formal staff training in relation to pension schemes and their audit
• Actively suggest and implement technical and efficiency updates to team's operations Requirements
• Studying towards or completed a professional qualification ACCA or equivalent
• Experience supervising and coaching junior members of staff on site
• Demonstrated experience undertaking and supervising UK external audits
• Knowledge of UK Auditing Standards, UK GAAP and the Pensions SORP as well as current economic and market trends relating to occupational pension schemesOur Agency PolicyBDO has a commitment to building relationships directly with candidates (and agencies) in our local markets and as such, we do not accept speculative CVs from agencies.
