On the Operational Risk Control team at UBS Investment Bank you'll be responsible for working with our business to identify and mitigate potential risks to UBS.Operational Risk Officers are the liaisons between Operational Risk Management (ORM) and the entire enterprise. Serving as both an effective challenger and a trusted advisor, Operational Risk Officers are integrated into multiple dimensions of first line risk-taking activities. As an Operational Risk officer supporting our EMEA Electronic Trading business (Equities / Fixed Income), your role will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, superb integrative thinking across all facets of operational risk, and a desire to help the enterprise properly manage operational risk.The successful candidate will be responsible for: Providing challenge to the First Line of Defense's risk-taking and risk assessments, as well as, working with ET Sales, Trading, Quantitative Analysts, and Technology teams to review risks associated with algorithmic trading, providing guidance and challenge on controls, algorithm testing and implementation, including Challenge the 1LOD on the effectiveness of regional controls and processes across SORT events and ORIs  Assessing products, controls and flows from an operational risk perspective across the ET businesses technology stacks across Equities and Fixed Income, including refreshing the Annual C&ORC Competency Assessment for on-going enhancements and refreshing the ET C&ORC ETAC Checklist up-to-date with Operational risk questions  Providing consultation to the business on projects, new initiatives, business objectives, processes, risk events, controls, and/or monitoring  Evaluating the operational risk profile and risk analysis for the business, culminating in weekly, monthly and quarterly Divisional Operational Risk Reporting Committees/Management Committees and the ET Production Meetings  Working across the multiple dimensions of operational risk programs and understand how they impact the business and mitigation required Influencing executives within ORM and the Electronic Trading business on key operational risks and actions required to mitigate risk As needed, developing ad-hoc analysis, deep dive investigations, control testing, and driving specific risk initiatives, as well as, performing thematic reviews of top ET risks as deemed to be found high inherent/residual risks in RCSA summary and presenting the MI output to various committees Delivering and updating Operational Risk Training across the 1LOD and 2LOD  Reviewing and challenging the intra-day Electronic Trading MI both in real time via alerting and also on a periodic and historical basis, and challenging the business on the content of the MI as required by Policies and Procedures  Reviewing and updating the ET relevant Policies and Procedures for Operational risk owned by C&ORC  Reporting and escalating Operational Risk issues/concerns to the relevant meetings including Risk and Management Committees Supporting the Electronic Trading governance framework across Equities and Fixed Income as well as provide subject-matter operational risk expertise on operational rules and regulations pertaining to Electronic Trading, including participating in annual and ongoing ET RCSA reviews Reviewing intra-day electronic trading MI both in real time via alerting and also on a periodic historical basis, and challenging the business on the content of this MI as required by the Intra-day risk framework Your team: You'll work in the EMEA C&ORC team in London reporting to the Head of ET EMEA C&ORC. This is a dynamic, driven and diverse team of professionals, with oversight responsibility for managing the compliance and operational risks arising from UBS' business. Your expertise:  Degree level or equivalent qualification preferred but not essential if the candidate has relevant working experience Minimum of 3 - 5 years of prior operational risk experience with a financial institution in Sales and Trading (Electronic Trading specialist preferred) or at a regulatory agency.  Successful experience of leadership, both in terms of people as well as projects and initiatives. Strong strategic, judgement and integrative thinking skills, deep risk management knowledge, as well as good organizational, communication and influencing skills. Expertise with the regulatory and market structure framework of EMEA and Electronic Trading systems related to financial services operational risk management. Good knowledge of equities and/or fixed income products and trade flows, with a focus on automated trading systems in Electronic Trading You are: Structured, rigorous, analytical and thorough in your approach with the ability to form defensible conclusions from risk assessments. Someone with strong and sound judgement and able to articulate views, assessments and approaches both verbally and in writing precisely, concisely, logically and accurately including with visuals where required.  Able to present to and respond effectively to senior internal and external stakeholders. Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills, able to calmly manage conflict and pressure in a demanding, high-volume environment. Able to be flexible and capable of prioritizing based on changing internal or external demands.  Experienced in handling sensitive information with a high degree of discretion.EFC-UBSLI-GB Your colleagues: About us: Expert advice.
