A small company seeking a Assistant Accountant to join their team of 20 in a rural location. This is a critical role within a small finance team which will suit an outgoing candidate used to working with a high degree of accuracy. Team of 2 reporting to the Finance Director. The Role In this role you will have a wide range of duties as follows Processing / approval of supplier invoices & preparing payment runs Some sales invoicing. Bank reconciliations. Company credit card reconciliations. Supervision & support of credit control function (1 member of staff) Month End Journals - accruals, prepayments, deferred income, etc. VAT returns. Revenue reconciliations & analysis for sales team commissions. Weekly reporting of relevant information to all levels of the business. Quarterly management board pack preparation. Monthly management accounts preparation, review and analysis for board members. Year End accounts preparation and adjustments. Some HR administration eg inputting staffs holidays. Project accounting for events held, supporting closure of the event debtor ledger. Your Profile The successful Assistant Accountant will be an experienced transactional finance professional who can demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and has experience preparing management accounts. To be advanced in excel and sage 50. Must be happy to work on own initiative with high attention to detail and able to manage own workload to reach deadlines. Supporting the team with queries and processes. Salary & Benefits This role will be paying up to 35k for the right candidate.
