We are seeking multiple highly skilled Finance Business Partners to join Brunel University's busy finance team to play a crucial role during an exciting period of transformation. Brunel University is a world-class educational institution offering a wide range of courses in London, with over c13,800 students and c2,500 staff, and a total income of c£220 million (2017/18) [income figures for 18/19 needed?]. As key members of the Finance Business Partner team, this role is to provide professionally qualified support for the management of the University's financial affairs, ensuring the best use of resources. Contributing to the strategic and operational management of the University, the Finance Business Partner will input into all strategic decisions made to ensure that proper financial attention is being taken into consideration in any major decision affecting the University. You will report directly into the Director of Finance, while working closely with the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis and Financial Controller. An interest in Engineering, Business or Health & Life Sciences would be beneficial, as the University aims to establish market leading institutes of study in these areas. From a leadership perspective, you will be expected to lead by example instilling a positive and forward thinking culture. The post holder will play an active role in helping deliver the University's 2030 Mission and Vision, while contributing to a positive, forward thinking and customer-focused working environment where collaboration and team work are prioritised. The role will involve working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, so the ability to communicate and network effectively will be essential. You will be expected to meet deadline regularly, so timeliness and an ability to plan and organise one's own workload is of importance. You will need to be a fully qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with strong planning, budgeting and forecasting abilities. You will be able to display previous experience at a Business Partner level, with experience working in a complex service environment. Whilst sector experience is not a requisite, you will need to display a genuine interest in working at a university.
