Gael Force Group is a trusted manufacturer and supplier of equipment, technology and services to aquaculture, commercial fishing and leisure marine markets with annual turnover closing on £50m. We are currently looking for an ambitious accountant looking to further their career in the industry as our Group Financial Controller to be based in Inverness. Your responsibility will be to help develop and manage a leading-edge finance function for our rapidly growing business and to assist the Finance Director in providing a first class and comprehensive finance function to underpin and support all group activities. This role requires a highly motivated and dynamic individual who is not afraid to work flexibly to meet the demands of the job. You will bring technical expertise to bear on a wide range of accounting issues and challenges. Responsibilities:
- Motivate, lead and support finance team members. - Produce timely and reliable management information reports on a monthly basis for operational planning and decision-making. - Design, implement and maintain the systems and procedures necessary to support operations. - Drive change, based on measured and reported data. - Ensure compliance across the finance function with all statutory and other relevant requirements - Assist the Finance Director in project work and ad hoc tasks. Job Requirements: Key Competencies, Skills, Experience and/or Training: - Candidates should be CIMA/ACCA/ICAS qualified with previous commercial experience. - Strong Excel skills and general IT knowledge and experience. - Analytical and report writing skills. - Self-starter and finisher: the role is to deliver with minimal routine support. - Experience of managing a finance department.
