Job Description - Global Head of Tax (190005YL)Job Description Global Head of Tax 190005YLSummary of RoleThe Finance function serves both internal and external customers: colleagues within our company, client organizations, shareholders, financial institutions, vendors and regulatory agencies around the world. This role will lead the Company's Global Tax Function.The Global Head of Tax is responsible for managing the Company's Global Tax affairs in approximately 144 jurisdictions which includes 500 legal entities. It is responsible for strategy and execution for all global tax related activities to meet tax reporting and filing obligations, and to comply with all tax regulations and laws.The role proactively interacts with the Board of Director's, Audit Committee, C Suite and Senior Management in an effort to discuss risk, strategy and vision on Global Tax matters. Communication skills are critical in messaging technical tax issues to a Non-Tax Technical audience.Moreover, the Global Head of Tax is responsible for SEC Quarterly and Annual Income Tax Reporting. This includes proactively managing the Company's Effective Tax Rate, reconciling Tax Accounts, preparation of SEC required Tax disclosure, and partnering with Deloitte, the Company's Auditors.The RoleResponsibility for Global Tax Strategy including driving Shareholder Value through EPSReview and provide oversight of Company's Global Tax reporting requirementsDevelop tax reporting initiatives to improve speed and quality of reporting including consideration, design and implementation of tax reporting technology solutions.Enhance processes and analysis for internal communication critical tax sensitivities.Lead a high performing team that maintains a strong "client service" focus and culture. Develop and manage strong working relationships with various departments within Corporate Finance as well as with Segment/Geography Leadership.Be a trusted advisor and partner to internal clients. Engage other departments to promote and model collaboration and sharing of best practices. Direct the focus in critical finance areas including:Group Treasury & Cash Flow Management;M&A Strategic & Integration Planning;Advise on Global Mobility MattersAssist and advise on Finance related Tax Examinations (non core);Partner/coordinate with the Principal Accounting Officer regarding global accounting policy and procedure matters and with the Director, FP&A on global financial performance management.Work with the Business Leadership teams to proactively identify and help solve performance issues within markets and businesses including Legal Entity Simplification in a highly Regulatory Environment.Leads and executes on Tax Strategy in conjunction with Business strategy to minimize business disruption The RequirementsPrior experience leading Tax for a similarly sized company, preferably in the professional services or financial services/insurance sectorsGlobal International Tax experience should be at least 18 yearsQualified accountant, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or MBA or significant and relevant alternative experience or qualifications preferredStrong knowledge of financial reporting and GAAPSignificant global leadership experience across multiple finance disciplines, including strong focus on tax, proven ability to lead diverse teams and influence executive decision-makingFinancial and business acumen as evidenced by strong performance in a current or Senior Finance Director roleSystems / data knowledge to be able to direct colleagues in the accumulation and synthesis of data into operational recommendationsAbility to interpret and analyze financial dataAbility to resolve exceptions and disputes as well as manage client expectationsAbility to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesAbility to lead global, virtual teams, drive change, develop skills of direct reports, and positively impact team moraleExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to build and maintain strong relationships in a collaborative fashion with strong influencing skillsWTW Values & Behaviors will underpin all roles and will guide performance criteria.
