This is an ideal position for a person wishing to pursue a career in accountancy and willing to obtain professional qualifications. Trainee Assistant Accountant - Purpose of The Role: The purpose of the role is to support the provision of high quality financial and management accountancy services to Council officers and service managers, in accordance with proper accounting practice and Council policies The post holder will assist the Group Accountant (Revenue & Capital) to deliver the budget process, prepare the statutory financial statements, maintain the Council's financial ledger system, and provide high quality management information The post holder will undertake the main control reconciliations for the different systems and the bank reconciliation for the Council's bank account(s) To administer the receipt of grant funding applications, and to provide an assessment of the financial position of applicants To study for the AAT qualification. Trainee Assistant Accountant - Experience: Good numerical skills. Ability to be highly accurate when working with numbers A basic understanding of accounting principles Knowledge of spreadsheets and general ledger systems Understand the principles of sound financial management Able to work with customers (internal or external) At least 1 year's relevant experience within a busy accounting / office environment A levels and hold GCSE's grade 4 or above (formerly grade A - C) for Math's & English, or equivalent If you are interested in this excellent opportunity, press 'apply' today You will be redirected to our site where you complete your application.
