Accounts Assistant - Cambridge - £20,000-£25,000 per annum A leading research organisation, based in Cambridge currently have an exciting opening for an ambitious Accounts Assistant to join them on a permanent basis, taking responsibility for a variety of tasks. Reporting in to the Finance Manager, and working within a wider team of 7, this role will include the following: -Enter and code financial transactions appropriately -Make bank deposits and keep records up to date -Raising sales invoices -Sorting out incoming and outgoing daily post and answering any queries -Calculating and checking to make sure payments, amounts and records are correct -Following up with customers and chasing debt -Checking scanning and posting supplier invoices -Matching supplier invoices to purchase orders -Supplier statement reconciliations -Checking and processing expenses -Checking and processing credit card statements -Managing petty cash transactions -Dealing with supplier queries -Dealing with purchase order queries This client is looking for a driven and career motivated individual who will ideally have some existing accounts administration experience and will have started the AAT qualification, however will also consider those with administration experience looking for an entry in to accounts. Candidates should be keen to progress, and willing to take on more responsibility over time. Candidates should possess a good level of education and general level of IT understanding, with the ability to use Microsoft packages at an intermediate level. It is essential that candidates possess strong communication skills and are comfortable dealing with all levels of staff and external contacts.
