Financial Analyst To provide accounting expertise and support to the management of the Hospitality businesses. To be an active member of the business operat ing team for the business being serviced and for the Group. Support the overall planning, control and analysis of operations and for special projects as assigned. Improve the profit ability of the businesses serviced for the overall betterment of the Hospitality and Real Estate Group. To provide leadership through supervision, contributing to the overall cost effectiveness of the Accounting Department through the effective utilization of manpower and materials available to the department. Responsibilities Financial Consultant A. Function as a contributing member of the operating teams for the businesses serviced. B. Assist in coordination of the strategic, financial, capital and manpower planning process as well as budgeting for the businesses ser viced and the Group. C. Provide monthly in-depth operational analysis for the businesses serviced. D. Prepare and present studies, projects, analysis and reports as required for the operations and projects of the businesses ser viced. E. Assist management in improving operational results. F. Assist the Group in maximizing the use of the new accounting system. G. Drive continuous improvement in financial processes. Controller A. Participate in the accounting activities that are part of the monthly and annual accounting close for the businesses ser viced and the Group. Responsible for the accura cy, legiti macy and timeliness of ac counting transactions, source documents and records. B. Assist in the creation and production of all statements and reports within the "Greenbook". Responsible for the evaluation and analysis of all income statement, cash flow and balance sheet activity within the businesses serviced. C. Initiate and participate in the implementation of information syst ems within the business. Concentrating on the improvement of the quality, brevity and timeliness of the informa tion. D. Responsible for the design, development and maintenance of ac count ing and operational systems and procedures within the business. E. Ensure that controls are adequate for the business. F. Assisting in the design, development and mainte nance of various computer systems that impact the business. G. Responsible for all compliance issues in respect of taxes payable to HMRC. H. Preparation of statutory accounts I. Preparation of forecasts and budgets. J. Preparation of Quarterly VAT return I. Balance sheet reconciliations Supervision A. Assisit the Manager-Finance in training and coaching junior accounting associates B. Assist in the determination of staffing needs for the depart ment C. Assist in the creation of a positive work environment that is conducive to increased productivity and encourages, recognizes and acknowledges individual efforts and personal development. D. Support and actively participate in the Group's Quality and Reengineering Program. Encourage direct reports to support and partici pate in this program. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree and three or more years of successful accounting related experience. Qualified Accountant (or studying toward) e.g. ACCA ,ACA, CIMA
