About the Role We currently have a 6-12 month contract opportunity available at our head office for an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join the team. This role is key to ensuring accurate and timely payment to all Colas staff and ensuring smooth processing of starters and leavers. In this role, you will be responsible for: Overseeing the payroll team and checking all the input for weekly and monthly payrolls and running weekly meetings with the team Inputting the payroll data for weekly and monthly payrolls when cover is required e.g. starters, leavers, HMRC forms, pension forms, salary changes, personal details amendments, SPP, AHP payments, SIP refund payments, pension refund payments, overtime Running the Pensioners payroll and month end reports Process weekly childcare voucher payments every week Monthly payments and completing the payments recs spreadsheet as well as responsible for the SMP for weekly and monthly employees Completing the alabaster calculations for SMP employees at the beginning of each tax year. To be responsible for completing the Basic Earnings Assessment for childcare employees at the beginning of each tax year Putting weekly and monthly employees back into salary sacrifice every 6 months All data loads weekly, monthly and annual including; AHP, CVU, Peoples Pension, Monthly Holidays, Daily Increases, Pensions, Life Assurance, Union Increases, Pensioners Increases, Holiday Buy, Temporary Payments e.g. First Aid, Safety Bonuses Ringmer Monthly Overtime Report Apprentice training Colas are also offering some great benefits with this role, which include: Competitive pension contribution 25 days annual leave per annum bank holidays and the option to buy or sell up to 5 days annual leave Ongoing training, and personal professional development Discounts on car leasing, holidays, cinema tickets, restaurants and much more through our online employee benefits portal About you You will be a proven payroll professional with excellent attention to detail when working quickly. As you will be working as part of a large accounts team, you will be able to demonstrate that you are a team player and strong leader. In addition, you will: Be able to manage your own work load and be able to prioritise a variety of tasks Have strong computer literacy including a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite i.e. Word, PowerPoint and Excel Knowledge of SMP, SPP. SAP, SSP, PAYE, NI, Pensions, Auto Enrolment and Salary sacrifice Be able to pick up and navigate data management and payroll systems, SAGE payroll experience would be an advantage Previous experience working in a rounded payroll position within a high volume environment Previous experience of processing the payroll for weekly paid employees with the ability to calculate overtime quickly and accurately Colas is fully committed to promoting equality and diversity and maintaining a culture of fairness, transparency and respect for all employees, clients, communities, suppliers, contractors and other stakeholders.
