On behalf of a major Building Control services provider, Blu Coal are recruiting for an Accounts Officer. You will be responsible for day to day maintenance of accounting records and will be required to work closely with the finance team, operations team and the head of building control.
Responsibilities:
• Day to day maintenance of Xero Accounting ledgers
• Month end reconciliations
• Purchase Ledger/Creditors processing and payments
• Reconciliation of supplier accounts and resolution of reconciling items
• Updating company cash flow records and forecasts
• General support of the Accounts and Commercial Teams
• Any other reasonable duties required by the Head of Finance & Operations Requirements:
• AAT Qualified or above or be able to demonstrate equivalent qualifications and/or experience
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting processes and principles, in particular UKGAAP
• Knowledge and experience of computer accounting applications. Experience with Xero will be an advantage
• Experience of month end processes related to preparation of management accounts
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Able to work within timetables and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills
• Teamwork
• Confidence in dealing with third parties
• Good knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Ability to adapt to using potentially unfamiliar systems
• A can-do attitude Benefits:
• A salary package of up to £24,000 for a 40-hour week depending on experience and qualifications
