Support Portfolio Managers in understanding financial risks. Advise on benefits of environmental, social and governance factors in their investment decision making process.

Description

  • Support and develop tools for the effective ESG factors integration into our investment process across equity, private equity and property portfolios to ensure compliance with the Responsible Investment Policy
  • Conduct thematic researches, contribute to investment discussions and make recommendations to Portfolio Managers on material ESG risks.
  • Lead the maintenance and review the ESG investment risks and controls
  • Identify, analyse, maintain and process Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) data of companies and industries.
  • Work with portfolio managers to identify risks and potential opportunities in investee companies that might lead to change in shareholder value.
  • Engage with investee companies either directly or collectively through industry bodies
  • Execute engagement plans, produce and file meeting notes and track the impact of engagement over time, ensure correspondence is retained as a record of the governance views expressed.
  • Assist in proxy voting process to ensure compliance with Voting Policy and enhance operational efficiency of voting process.

Profile

  • Good knowledge of environmental, social and governance factors, associated risks and how they might impact financial performance.
  • Familiarity with recent policy and regulatory developments pertaining to Responsible Investment field (e.g. UK Stewardship Code)
  • Previous relevant professional asset management experience of ESG investing or associated fields
  • Strong academics; educated to degree standard or equivalent (Finance or Sustainability related a plus)
  • Good knowledge of financial instruments and investment strategies.

Desirable:

  • Practical experience of ESG Integration into investment process and building of an efficient and consistent ESG reporting process.
  • Experience in working with various datasets from ESG data providers.
  • Relevant experience is highly desirable for this position but our client would consider talented individuals with a strong track record in an associated activity.
