Job Details

We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Graduate/Finance Trainee to become a key member of the cost accounting team, providing high quality insight and analysis to senior managers within our business.

You will operate through different legal entities and provide support the expense accounting for 6 different entities, 2 based in the UK, 3 currently based in Ireland, 1 based in Belgium, representing a combined expense base of €75M.

We would like you to undertake a professional accountancy qualification (CIMA or ACCA) and because you are super ambitious, we expected to achieve first time passes, and complete your exams within three years.

You will provide support and assist with the expense accounting of all UK/Ireland entities and keep them under control. Aid in preparing robust monthly and pertinent management accounts Support analytical review of accounts. In addition to that, you will need to calculate Expense Pre-Payments and Accruals, production and posting of Month End Journals and liaise with Accounts Payable to ensure correct posting of Expenses to relevant Business Lines and Cost Centres. We will need you to be very diligent to ensure that all errors are identified and corrected.

 

We will need you to help with preparation of budgets and rolling forecasts;

  • Perform variance analysis
  • Production of commentary schedules for management and group
  • Liaise with business managers to ensure accuracy and suitability of budgets
  • Support senior management team with expert added value analysis

In addition to that, you will also;

  • Aid in the Production of management accounts/information packs to support business decision making by senior management.
  • Provide Departmental Cost Tracking analysis to Support Key Budget Holders around the business.
  • Aid in the production of the AXA Partners UKIR P&L accounts
  • Submission to group via AXA’s consolidation system and AXA Partners P&L Reporting (Magnitude & Pandore)
  • Aid in the production and reconciliation of AXA Partners UKIR balance sheet accounts
  • Production of the Fixed Asset Registers and preparation of accompanying journals
  • Production of Key Inter-Company reconciliations and recharge accounts, liaising with internal & external partners within AXA Group to agree IC balances.
  • Production of other Receivable/Payable Balance sheet reconciliations including key Claims Rebilling Control Accounts.

Qualifications

  • University Graduate (2:1 or higher)
  • Desire to begin study for professional accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA) 
  • Positive attitude with the ambition to progress within the organisation
  • Team player
  • Analytical person who enjoys problem solving
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercial mind-set
