The organisation is a leading London University, with a large finance team. They are committed to academic excellence with around 20,000 students and an enviable central London location.
Description
As a Senior Financial Accountant within the Financial Accounting, Tax & Treasury Team, you will be responsible for:
- Leading on planning and delivery of financial statements for year end, ensuring they comply with all external statutory requirements
- Reviewing the University's corporation tax calculation
- Reviewing the UK and UAE VAT returns
- Reviewing month end journals such as accruals for areas including fixed assets and research
- Preparing and reviewing the preparation of the monthly cash and bank balances, interest receivable and interest payable
- Providing technical accounting, treasury and VAT advice to customers and colleagues
Profile
You must be ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA qualified, who has excellent analytical skills and is able to challenge and be innovative to improve the finance function. You must have strong interpersonal skills, and have a thorough understanding of VAT and tax in a higher education facility. You must have experience post-qualification including financial reporting, group accounts and taxation. Experience of US GAAP is desirable.
