We have an exciting opportunity for an Audit Manager to join an in-house internal audit function within a dynamic business. As the department develops and expands, with significant investment, this is an excellent time to time to influence and shape the design of the control environment. Reporting directly to the Chief Internal Auditor of this FTSE 250 retail bank, the role will work within a small team, offer autonomy to build key stakeholder relationships and truly act as a valued business advisor. As the Audit Manager, your work will include: Agreeing the scope, objectives and audit approach with relevant senior business management and the Chief Internal Auditor/Senior Audit Manager before commencing review Identifying, testing and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls designed to address key risks and documenting them in line with OSB internal audit methodology. Executing the assigned audits within the specified time frames and engaging as appropriate with the Senior Audit Manager at key stages Maintaining high quality audit files in line with OSB internal audit methodology Discussing the findings of audit reviews with management on a constructive basis in order to develop practical, innovative and value-adding solutions to audit issues identified. Ensuring internal audit reports are impactful, balanced and address the root cause of issues. Why come to work for us? The role can be based in London or Kent (Chatham) and will require 50% travel to other UK sites. Am I suitable for this role? You would ideally have strong post qualification experience (ACA, ACCA, CIIA), leading business process audits. As we build the team, we are interested in specific expertise in retail banking (reviewing mortgage products, current accounts and savings products plus operational audits). To accompany expertise, we are looking for individuals who are flexible, commercially minded and motivated. Critical thinking and reflection are vital, alongside the ability to see the bigger picture. The ability to work autonomously, but with the support of a team behind you, where you will obtain experience across the whole banking operations; opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the bank and able to interact with a wide range of senior management.
