Based at head office in Newbury, the Commercial Finance Manager will provide challenge and support to drive and execute the specific business units P&L performance which supports the Commercial Finance strategy. This role is very 'hands on' requiring an investigative approach, the capability of building, maintaining and developing solid relationships with the business customer, offering sound advice as well as the ability to challenge where necessary. This is a 'true' finance business partnering role, bringing the numbers to life, analysing and converting them into meaningful insights and communicating findings to non finance stakeholders, influencing where necessary. Key duties include: Dedicated Commercial Finance Manager overseeing both financial and non-financial numbers and KPIs in relation to full P&L performance Monthly review of P&L performance with deep understanding and explanation of variances and trends. Clear and concise articulation of financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Proactively provide commercial insight for effective decision making, identify areas that require further analysis and insight and to drive the business to deliver the BU's financial targets A thorough understanding of the dynamics of the BU's performance is required, and be able to support the business in measuring and monitoring the impact from commercial activity through to financial performance Budgeting and forecasting cycles for the BU, working with the business to define volumes, revenue and margin forecasts on a driver based model. Work closely with commercial and trading teams across key commercial / financial initiatives and projects Skills required: Excellent stakeholder management skills across both finance and non-finance functions at all levels Strong analytical skills and commercial understanding.
