Hays Senior Finance is proud to be working in partnership with ExCeL London who are a world class venue based in the heart of East London, hosting over 400 events and 4 million visitors annually. Due to continued growth and success they are looking to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant which is a newly created role, this is a key and pivotal appointment to help continue to drive their financial objectives. Working alongside 2 established Finance Managers you will report directly to the CFO, with responsibility for the preparation of: the Group's Statutory Accounts; the draft Corporation tax computations including Capital allowances; cash flow and profit forecasting for their Property Development Joint Ventures; and ownership of Fixed Assets and Capital Projects. The Finance Function will be going through a considerable amount of change in the next 12 months including the migration to a new accounting system from 1 January 2020 and the automation of many processes throughout the business (which will be driven by Finance). You will be responsible for: Year-end statutory accounts of the London International Exhibition PLC Group of Companies (liaising with EY) including IFRS disclosures Year-end Consolidation Work with our Joint-Venture Property development Partner to review monthly accounts/forecasts and prepare year-end statutory accounts for all JV entities Corporation Tax including capital allowances strategy (liaising with BDO) Fixed Assets accounting (c£400m of assets) Capital Projects accounting Internal audit actions around Fixed Assets and Capital Projects Supervision and Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to other team members to improve efficiency in processes and accuracy in recording and reporting of transactions. The successful candidate will be a finance professional and be a qualified accountant ACA/ACCA with a minimum of 2-5 years PQE with at least 2 years within industry, ideally gained in practice. Good working knowledge of IFRS is desirable. Competency in General Ledger, Capital Expenditure Accounting, month-end and year-end accounts preparation including year-end audits. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Numerate, organised, confident and able to meet strict deadlines. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is desirable. You will have the drive and ambition to deliver great results and above all you will have a strong degree of commercial acumen, with the ability to liaise with key stakeholders and create insightful financial information that will drive growth and business performance.
