Tax Consultant required to join the close-knit Corporate Tax team of a highly-regarded financial services business based in Edinburgh. As part of the Global tax team, the team in Edinburgh are responsible for managing both tax compliance and advisory work for a range of entities across the EMEA region. As consultant, you will divide your time between managing the tax compliance matters of a range of entities, as well as providing trusted tax advice to the business and supporting with complex, tax-driven project work. Responsibilities:
Prepare local tax returns, ensuring compliance and reporting requirements are met for the specific EMEA companies within your region Provide tax support and advice to business units and management as well as responding to tax queries raised by auditors or by tax authorities Work with regional advisors to support with non-UK tax returns and advice Undertake tax-driven projects and provide support to leadership within specialist areas including International Tax, Transfer Pricing and wider Tax units Build an in-depth understanding of tax requirements for business entities within various jurisdictions Provide tax accounting support to European and US teams (quarterly ETR reporting & provision process, FIN48, FAS 5 etc.) Provide specialist tax knowledge in support of company-wide projects and initiatives Identify tax risks, legislative changes and opportunities to implement tax efficiencies Maintain awareness of recent tax developments in EMEA region and assess the business impact Support the management of transfer pricing compliance matters within Europe, including identifying related party transactions, coordination of transfer pricing documentation and related enquiries (both internal and tax authority driven). You will be a qualified Accountant (CA/ACCA/ACA) or Tax Advisor (CTA) with a minimum of 3-4 years' corporate tax experience gained within a Top 10 Accounting firm or Financial services. Experience of International Tax and Transfer Pricing would be highly advantageous. You will have excellent tax technical knowledge and strong commercial acumen, with demonstrable abilities in presenting clear findings to senior tax leaders and stakeholders.
