Stevenage, Herts Contract: Contract, Full-Time (8-12 Months) - Maternity Cover Monday - Friday (37 Hours per week) Finance Manager (Maternity Cover): Are you a CCAB qualified accountant who would be confident contributing to the effect financial management of our clients business? Have you previously had experience of owning the budgeting process and relationships with an external audit team? Maybe you've managed a small team previously and have owned the VAT accounting process? Would you feel confident having a key role to play in implementing our clients new finance systems? The key purpose of the role is to: Provide the business with financial analysis and insight Ensure sound financial controls are in place and adhered to across the business Own the budgeting process and relationship with the external audit team Manage a small team of finance officers Own the VAT accounting process Main areas of responsibility: Review and support the production of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentaries; Act as Business Partner for a number of business services, supporting team leaders with financial decision-making and forecasting; Act as a lead partner in the external audit process, preparing and owning a range of audit schedules, and liaising regularly with the audit team during fieldwork; Own the annual budget process; Own income and expenditure forecasts for the business, using a range of data sources and systems to provide insight; Reconcile key balance sheet items monthly, including deferred income, prepayments and fixed assets; Maintain an ongoing review of cash flow and the production of forecasts; Produce quarterly VAT return, including checks to ensure compliance with VAT legislation, and ensure timely payment of VAT; Provide analysis and reporting for decision-making, including business cases, project appraisal, evaluation and post-implementation analysis; Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, and adherence to internal financial controls; Manage members of the finance team, including day-to-day communication and motivation as well as succession planning and performance management.
