London, LND, GB, WC2N 5EH Division: Financial Reporting Job Type: Requisition Number: 7184 Job Category: Finance Job Function: Finance and Risk About the role This role has responsibility for planning and delivering allocated activities and generating monthly consolidated financial statements. These are used by the business for informed decision-making and for accurate and timely reporting purposes. There may also be the opportunity to provide analysis and input to develop standards and policies and/or act as business partners for an internal customer. Monthly consolidation of Group results; posting of consolidation journals, input of off-system trial balances, liaising with UK and US finance teams to critically review their submissions, challenge and assist where necessary. Assisting in the coordination of year end and half year reporting process for the Group, including timetable preparation, preparation of group reporting instructions for UK and US finance teams, and day-to-day management of the reporting process. Ownership of monthly balance sheet management reporting provided to Board of Directors of National Grid. Responsible for production of subsidiary statutory accounts for certain of National Grid's head office subsidiaries. Production of primary statements and disclosure notes in the half year release and annual report. Liaising with auditors on issues arising during the statutory reporting process. Assisting in the documentation of processes for Sarbanes-Oxley s.404 compliance requirements, including identifying key controls. Quarterly reporting to the ONS on Group operating profit and foreign direct investment. About you Ideally a newly qualified ACA Qualified Accountant with experience of financial reporting. Ability to take ownership of tasks, with a strong drive for results. Highly proficient communicator. Self-motivated, proactive with excellent attention to detail in all aspects of the job. A strong team player, looking to contribute to the wider financial control business environment by improving operational efficiency and information exchange. Skilled in accounting and reporting pronouncements and have some knowledge of governance, risk and internal control frameworks. With business partnering experience, you'll have an ability to build solid business relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
