Reporting to the VAT Partner Our client is a prestigeous accountancy firm operating for over 70years. We are looking for a VAT Manager to join a successful and friendly VAT team. Ideal candidate is proactive and capable of winning new business. This is a high-profile role with promotion opportunities in the future for the right person. Responsibilities Manage the day to day VAT issues within the firm, with assistance from the rest of the team. Be a focal VAT resource within the two London offices: Develop relationships within the firm, with a view to creating new work Expand VAT knowledge in specific areas, supporting the VAT partner's technical role Requirements Good all-round VAT knowledge, which includes but is not limited to: Land and property Financial services Cross-border trade, both goods and services Charities Partial exemption and capital goods scheme Good communication skills including: Written advice Verbal advice Ability to discuss complex VAT issues and develop solutions with a wide range of colleagues within the firm, as well as clients Ability to work on their own Team player Experience At least five years in practice and ten years in VAT Education to at least A-level standard Useful attributes (but not necessary) SDLT knowledge Staff management CTA qualified
