Internal audit - start shaping your business career Join our internal audit team on a 12-month paid placement as part of your sandwich degree course and discover what it's really like to work in business. Gain hands-on experience, build a network of contacts and get advice from our expert mentors. If you perform well, you could be given the chance to join one of our student training programmes that will help you kick-start your business career. What does our internal audit team do? A career in internal audit is not just about numbers - join our team and discover how some of the world's most exciting companies operate. Organisations today face a number of risks that can stop them from achieving their goals. We take a deep look at a business to decide whether it has the right systems and control processes in place to manage these potential threats. You'll be advising clients on how they can better manage their strategic, financial and operational risks. You'll make recommendations on how their organisation needs to improve so it is better prepared for the future. What can you expect? The depth of services and clients you'll be exposed to will help you kick-start your career. Internal audit will provide you with the knowledge of how different organisations work from NHS Trusts, educational organisations, charities, housing, financial services, corporates, local and central government and other types of organisations. By having this exposure gives you a great foundation to build your business knowledge. At RSM, you'll be a key member of our team from day one. Our placement programme allows you to experience working in the internal audit team alongside current trainees and experienced members of the firm. This hands-on early experience is invaluable as you take the next steps in your career. You'll also benefit from on-the-job training from more senior members of the team and gain access to our internal training courses that will help you develop in the role. What we look for Internal auditors spend a lot of time working independently, so we're on the lookout for enthusiastic self-starters who are quick to learn and always up for a challenge. You'll be working on a wide variety of projects, so it's important that you're adaptable, highly organised and have great attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential as you'll be communicating at all levels, often explaining complex information both in meetings and in written reports. If that sounds like you, we know you'll enjoy being part of our team. Minimum Qualifications Entry requirements At RSM, we don't just look for good exam results. We think passion, personality and originality are just as important. You will need: 96 UCAS (new tariff) across 3 A-levels or 4 Highers/Advanced Highers; A predicted honours degree. UCAS changed their points system so under the old tariff it would be 280/240 points respectively.
