Are you a frustrated Accountant? This was one of the main themes we discussed when talking about the right candidate for this role at Watersheds. Watersheds are a specialist firm of Corporate Finance Advisers based in Northampton. The term specialist is one often over-used in today's world, it is certainly not out of place defining Watersheds. They were established in 1998 and their business model purely focuses on the SME sector. You will be playing a vital part in helping clients buy and sell private companies. Do I need Corporate Finance experience? No, it's not essential. However, an interest, passion and desire to be successful in this area is absolutely required. They'll be keen to explore in interview exactly what interests you about it and why you feel your skills are transferable. Some Corporate Finance roles can be quite similar in style, this one is different to the norm. It's a chance to be a part of something. Obviously, you will be expected to be around if a client needs you out of hours but as a standard, this is a 9-5 role. THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES The work is interesting, challenging, very commercial and there is no routine. As a Partner you will be responsible for project management throughout the entire deal process. Starting with initial client meetings and deal structuring, to the preparation of financial models and the creation of business plans. This is a totally client facing role. You will be responsible for attracting investors and ensuring a high level of risk management throughout the process.
