Director of Finance and Resources - Charity Organisation East London up to £70K Benefits Howells Solution are proud to be working with a not for profit charitable organisation to source a Director of Finance and Resources. The successful candidate will support the Trustees, Chief Executive and members with financial information and interpretation to assist decision making across the Charity. You will be provide strong financial stewardship, leading on all financial aspects of the Charity including budgets and controls, internal financial procedures and processes, management and statutory accounting and audit. The role extends beyond Finance to encompass responsibility for Human Resources, IT and premises/office services as well. The post holder will also act as Company Secretary and be responsible for Data. Yo will report to the Chief Executive and be repsonsible for Line Management of Management Accountant, Finance Officer, Office Manager & PA to the Chief Executive Director of Finance and Resources Essential Experience: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) Developing and managing financial systems and processes Operating at a senior strategic management level Developing and producing financial reports for management and of presenting these at Board level Constructing SORP compliant statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors Developing and managing the production of budgets, management accounts and forecasts Managing a HR function Director of Finance and Resources Role and

Responsibilities:
Planning and Development - Working with the Trustees, Chief Executive and members to develop organisational strategy. Working with members to provide financial evaluation of new projects and initiatives. Supporting the Chief Executive and members in working with the Board to deliver the Charity's vision, mission and aims Finance - Developing, managing and ensuring compliance with all internal financial systems, processes and controls. Planning and co-ordinating the preparation of the Charity's budgets, cash flows and operational plans and monitoring performance against these. Overseeing production of monthly management accounts and producing appropriately designed reports for Trustees, the Chief Executive and members. Preparing and planning for the annual audit, liaising with auditors and producing the annual accounts. Managing outsourced payroll and pension providers. Managing outsourced legacy administration consultant. Liaising with the charity's investment managers and overseeing their reporting. Managing the work of the Management Accountant and Finance Officer. Human Resources - Overseeing recruitment of new staff. Developing appropriate Human Resource policies and procedures and overseeing implementation. Ensuring the maintenance of personnel records. Leading on projects to increase staff engagement and retention. Producing periodic reports on Human Resources for members and the Board. IT - Taking responsibility for the IT facilities of the charity in conjunction with third party suppliers Premises/office services. Acting as liaison point with the Landlord with regard to premises. Ensuring the smooth running and high quality of office services. Ensuring that office services reflect value for money and procurement policies are followed. Managing the work of the Office Manager. Company Secretary - Acting as Company Secretary and ensuring that appropriate procedures are followed by the Board and its Committees. Attending all Board Meeting and relevant Board Committees. Data Protection - Acting as the lead on Data Protection matters for the charity. Team Management - Provide line management, support and supervision to the team including performance management, annual appraisals and ensuring relevant training. Provide support and guidance to the team and ensure all activities are co-ordinated and that agreed time-lines are met.
