Opportunities Technology Our Technology team works on delivering innovative technological solutions to provide fast and reliable systems to place trades, deliver value and position us to be competitive within the market. Our teams are responsible for driving simplification and consolidation of our technology architecture and efficiency of our key infrastructure platforms and own strategic initiatives such as cyber security, and public and private cloud programs. Software Developers/ Front Office Support Engineers/ Business Analysts Technology is an integrated division with a strong infrastructure and operations basis that supports all of Macquarie, layered with strong business and enterprise-wide solutions. Our portfolio of work spans across significant strategic initiatives, business initiatives and external and regulatory initiatives. The work we do demonstrates the extent to which Technology is integral to Macquarie's businesses. You'll work closely with senior IT and finance professionals, learning how technology is used to manage risk in a global financial institution. Key responsibilities of the role include implementing software design, testing and deployment best practices; identifying opportunities to improve technology infrastructure and executing the process of planning and communicating change. You will develop and code our applications and platforms, which will involve high technical analysis, problem solving skills and mathematical abilities. Automation Engineers As a Summer Intern you will work in an agile environment, focusing on the automation of products across a hybrid cloud platform. Your role will involve hands-on development including maintaining code bases, application deployments, and automating testing capabilities. You will be part of a team which is responsible for public and private cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting and overseeing operational projects which will involve high technical analysis and problem-solving skills. UX/ Design Thinking You will join CGM UX (user experience) team with Digital Services, a diverse, global group that works collaboratively with developers, product owners and business users to design a range of financial applications for Macquarie clients, colleagues and external customers. Projects are highly varied and can range from specialised risk management applications for front-office staff to regulatory dashboards to specialised data visualisation applications on desktop and mobile devices. Each UX project can vary in its approach but essentially follows similar stages, namely Discovery, Analysis, Design and Implementation. To cover this process, the principal roles in the team are UX Designers (user research, personas analysis and task analysis, sketches and wireframes), Visual Designers (prototypes and high-resolution visual designs) and finally a front-end (technology) development team for implementation. Designers work on Apple Mac computers using a range of tools. The team is highly skilled and experienced, and you will gain valuable exposure to understanding what's it like to work in a modern, digital design team and profit from their mentorship of your work. Risk Management Credit Risk & Market Risk You would be tasked with writing quality, insightful and detailed reports which assess the risk Macquarie faces across its business activities. You must be able to communicate this analysis to senior members of the risk team who will challenge your recommendation and ultimately accept the risk on behalf of Macquarie. You will develop with training and will gain a broad understanding of the various industries, markets, sectors and products that Macquarie is involved in and how we manage the associated risks. Compliance As a Summer Intern you will be working across a number of compliance areas including assisting with risk reporting to keep management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts; monitoring for regulatory change and analysing and communicating the impact of change; assisting with risk based reviews and monitoring, in line with regulatory obligations and internal policies and procedures. Commodities and Global Markets Our Commodities and Global Markets (CGM) group specialises in providing clients with access to markets, financing, financial hedging, research and market analysis, and physical execution across energy; metals, mining and agriculture; fixed income and currencies; credit; futures and equity markets. Central Risk Our Central Risk team provides our businesses globally with pricing and risk management assistance, and an independent view on how risk is managed and represented in our trading systems. As a Summer Intern in our Central Risk team, you'll work with businesses to identify and manage risk in systems and processes, design tactical and strategic solutions to support our culture of risk-based decision making and have the opportunity to evaluate the development of new products. You'll also undertake thorough financial risk and P&L analysis for derivatives and structured products, and work on projects used by all of CGM's trading businesses. Commodities QIS Sales Our QIS Business is a market-leader in providing clients with access to algorithmic or systematic trading strategies across asset classes (Commodities, Equities, Fixed Income). Our team research, design and sell strategies to institutional investors such as asset managers, pension funds and hedge funds globally. Our strong technology platform allows us to build sophisticated investable indices for our clients which can be customised to meet their needs. As a Summer Intern in QIS Sales you'll use your analytical and communication skills on the sales desk to help prepare information for clients on our strategies. You will work with structuring, trading and technology to learn about the process of creating a strategy, the nuances of investment across different asset classes, and how to present sometimes complex products to clients in one of the fastest growing areas of investment. Commodities QIS Trading As a summer intern in QIS Trading you will use your quantitative and analytical skills to support the traders in their activities such as risk hedging, performance assessment and reporting. You will work closely with the Structuring and the Quant Strat teams to launch new strategies and integrate them in the trading execution infrastructure. Commodities QIS Structuring The QIS team develop quantitative/systematic trading strategies across various asset classes. In the Quantitative Investment Strategy team, within Structuring you will gain hands on experience researching systematic strategies during the internship under the guidance of senior team members. We're looking for a strong academic background in a quantitative subject and good programming skills (ideally in Python). A typical internship in QIS involves taking the lead on building a new strategy under the guidance of senior team members. You will need to: Review academic papers on the strategy Gather relevant data Code up initial prototypes of the strategy in python Discuss and implement improvements to the strategy before delivering a final model Present findings to sales team to decide how to market the strategy Work on marketing materials Asset Management Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) is part of MAM and has partnered with clients, governments and communities to finance, manage, develop and enhance essential real assets for twenty-five years. We have Intern opportunities across two teams within MIRA: Investor Solutions Group As an intern, you'll contribute to the critical role our team plays in the MIRA value proposition, which involves developing new products, raising capital from investors, and managing relationships with MIRA's existing client base. Together with the rest of the team, you will work with senior relationship managers and product specialists to support MIRA's global fundraising efforts by building a strong understanding of MIRA's platform and business model, as well as the track record and strategy of its managed funds and the underlying assets. You can expect to deliver investor reporting and updates, develop market analysis to deliver new clients to the business. You will benefit from broad exposure across infrastructure assets and sectors and also other alternatives, such as real estate, private credit and agriculture. As a result, you will be at the heart of the MIRA business. Infrastructure Equity Investment Team Your role as an intern in one of our Infrastructure Equity Investment teams will see you working on infrastructure assets across Europe, helping to manage and invest in companies that underpin communities, economies, and supply chains.
