Senior Financial Analyst - Tech, Transformation & Projects Paying £50,000 - £60,000 Bonus and benefits Northamptonshire Permanent Investigo are delighted to be partnering with the Finance team at Drax, the FTSE Energy Company. Their retail division, Drax Customers, is going through an exciting period of change and transformation. We are working with Drax Customers to create a high-performing finance team based in their modern Northampton office. Purpose: To provide effective financial support to the Retail IT Leadership team and the Transformation and change teams through; Designing, building, coordinating and consolidating all forecasting, initiative tracking, and reporting required Production of regular, timely and accurate management reports highlighting variance to target and trends, based around key drivers. Delivery of business and financial plans, driving management to focus on key issues and initiatives. Providing decision support through analysis and investment appraisals, evaluating capital and revenue expenditure proposals to ensure full value is gained from any investment and risks mitigated Develop and ensure robust financial control systems are consistently adhered to and maintained. Provision of financial support for business decisions. Building strong relationships with leadership and management teams Key Accountabilities: Develop successful working relationships across the business and wider finance team, which promote trust and confidence in the ability of the finance department to provide high quality information and analysis Provide commercial insight and understanding of the results, which enable management to explore future business opportunities. Design, develop and deliver a framework of inter-active planning, monitoring and reporting systems which ensure that performance is accurately measured, early indication of variations from plans is given and that appropriate management action is prompted and tracked. Lead the business planning, forecasting and tracking activities for IT and Change Work with the Accounting & FPA teams to ensure delivery of insightful and timely analysis on financial performance, risks and opportunities. Work collaboratively with other members of the finance team to ensure consistency of process and approach on all financial matters. Line management of a small team of analysts Engage across the broader Customers and Drax finance teams as part of the Drax Finance Transformation Develop investment appraisals, commercial analysis and scenario modelling and benefits tracking, ensuring financial returns are maximised and appropriate risk levels are balanced. Ensure drivers of performance are understood and implications are communicated effectively Ensure accounting practices are aligned across the Retail division, in line with Group accounting Knowledge, Skills and Experience required: Qualified Accountant - CIMA/ACCA/ACA Experience in a commercial or transformation role in a PLC environment. Previous experience in the energy sector an advantage. Commercial awareness - Understands and applies financial and commercial principles. Views issues in terms of costs, profits, markets and added value. Problem solving and analysis - Analyses issues and breaks them down into their component parts. Makes systematic and rational judgements based on relevant information. Creativity and innovation - Creates new and imaginative approaches to work-related issues. Identifies fresh approaches and shows a willingness to question traditional assumptions. Oral communication - Speaks clearly, fluently and in a compelling manner to both individuals and groups. Persuasiveness - Influences, convinces or impresses others in a way that results in acceptance, agreement or behaviour change. Personal motivation - Commits self to work hard towards goals. Shows enthusiasm and career commitment. Self-starter and willing/able to drive and manage own workload. Microsoft Excel - Advanced. Technical knowledge required, knowledge of macros would be an advantage.
