Optimum Recruitment Group are proud to be working exclusively with this well established and successful business based in Leeds City Centre who are looking to appoint a Credit Controller. As the stand-alone credit controller, you will be required to perform all aspects of credit control for the UK and Ireland customers, to ensure all customers pay invoices timely and credit control KPI's / targets are achieved. You will also be required to identify and proactively chase payments due whilst delivering top level customer service to both internal and external customers. Your key responsibilities will include: Prioritise aged debtors based on value and age of debt. Apply a methodical approach to debt recovery, including use of telephone, email, letters and statements. To proactively chase customers who have not paid invoices on time, and secure payment. Process customer payments over the phone. Identify any reasons for non-payment and liaise with customers and internal colleagues to resolve queries. Issue copy invoices, statements, contracts as required. Reconcile customer accounts payment history. Apply sound decision making, knowing when to escalate or to recommend legal action if required. Liaise with Legal to progress legal debt recovery. Update debtor reports with payments received and track results against targets. Produce debtor reporting by sites, and complete ad hoc report requests. Attend Aged Debt reviews ensuring reports are up to date and issued to attendees in advance. Monitor progress on a daily basis and deliver on targets. Deliver a quality service ensuring Credit control activities are efficient and effective. You must be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience: Credit Control experience. Good working knowledge of financial procedures and debt recovery processes. Good analytic skills and high attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Excellent telephone skills. Ability to plan and prioritise own workload and maintain a high degree of time management. Ability to work under pressure and act professional at all times. Self-motivated and driven to achieve targets. Experience of using Microsoft Office applications. Salary up to £24k plus benefits.
