Credit Control Assistant Leeds - Thorpe Park/LS15 Monday - Friday 9-5pm £20,000 - £25,000pa Our client multi award winning utilities business currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Credit Control Assistant to join their growing credit control team. The credit control department is accountable for credit control processes for accounts receivable, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, with the goal of optimising bad debt losses. The role will involve
• Timely and effective collection of debts
• Ability to effectively chase debtors with varying levels of urgency
• Process building and on-going refinement of processes
• Negotiating payment plans with customers
• Maintaining regular contact with clients who are classified as high risk
• Resolving and assisting with queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices
• Checking customer credit ratings
• Assist relations with collection, legal and disconnection agencies
• Assisting with aspects of accounts payable to minimise late payment of valid invoices
• Liaising with our suppliers to correct erroneous invoices
• Liaising with our suppliers to request copy invoices
• Setting up Direct Debits and making payments to suppliers Essential Skills and Experience
• Prior experience with collection of debt
• Knowledge of credit related regulations is desirable
• Have experience with customer negotiations to retrieve payment
• Excellent communication skills at all levels
• PC literate and competence of Word, Excel and Outlook are required
• High standard of numeracy, accuracy with attention to detail
• A team player with a flexible approach and a willingness to learn
• A self-starter who is pro-active and can set and achieve goals
• Good standard of education
• Strong organisational & time management skills
