We require someone (property or construction sectors background) to perform an internal audit on the appraisals, book values and accounting treatment of company's development assets to ensure that the accounting has received the correct level of scrutiny ahead of it's financial year end. The assignment will involve working with financial and non-financial staff to conduct a thorough review of the assumptions and workings used in the generation of the accounting, and the accounting itself, produced in house and by third party accountancy advisors. The deliverable will be an audit report, outlining the findings in terminology accessible to the board of directors that highlights any errors, deviation from accounting standards, process deficiencies and key risks, as well as recommendations as to what corrective actions need to be taken ahead of year end. Key experience required includes but is not limited to:
• Experience in designing an internal audit programme
• Experience of interpreting development appraisals
• A thorough understanding of the practical application of IAS 39 and IFRS 9
