Tax Operations Manager - Houston, TX or Remote Florida ( Job Number 1925362 ) Role Summary Baker Hughes, a GE company is currently hiring a Tax Operations Manager based in The Woodlands, Texas or Remotely in Florida. Responsible for planning, research and business advisory services regarding US Sales & Use tax technical, systems, and compliance related matters. Essential Responsibilities Ensure that Baker Hughes complies with applicable sales and use tax laws with the highest integrity. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure that (sales and purchasing) systems correctly determine and calculate US sales and use taxes. Evaluate existing processes, procedures and internal controls to ensure sales and use tax process simplicity, effectiveness and compliance with all state and local regulations. Provide functional tax leadership in tax engine implementation projects. Initiate and direct tax research and planning to develop tax strategies that minimize Baker Hughes sales and use tax liabilities. Monitor proposed sales and use tax legislation and alert senior tax leadership of impact on Baker Hughes. Collaborate with outsourced provider to monitor preparation and filing of all sales and use tax returns. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline 10 years of indirect tax experience in major accounting firm, law firm or multi-national company. Desired Characteristics Ability to work cross functionally. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience managing projects. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Prior leadership experience. Proficient use of SAP, Oracle, TR OneSource Tax Determination engine, Alteryx and Microsoft Office (eg. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
