Group Financial Accountant INCREDIBLE GLOBAL EVENTS ORGANISATION This role will be based from a stunning Central London office location

Salary:
£50,000 plus a 20% BONUS Super company benefits and rewards schemes Our client is a leading global events organisation with offices in over 20 countries across the globe who are experiencing an exciting period of transformation and growth. We are looking for an experienced Group Financial Accountant to provide accounting expertise and support to the Group Financial Reporting Manager and the wider finance department. The successful candidate will be a key proponent of Group finance striving to perform above and beyond expectations and aiming for continuous improvement. The role is essential to delivering the external financial reporting that is key to informing investors about the business and managing their expectations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Preparation of the Group year end and half yearly schedules (including goodwill, intangible assets, PPE, investments in associates, non-controlling interests, provisions, share options, financial instruments, segmental reporting) Preparation of the back half of the annual report and interim results, ensuring compliance with all IFRS disclosure requirements Support in the preparation of papers and presentations for the Exec, Board, Audit Committee, Remuneration Committee, staff and external parties on business results and issues arising Technical accounting treatment, e.g. acquisition accounting (including valuation of acquired intangible assets), impairment reviews Dealing with the Group's external auditors Preparation of the Group's UK-based subsidiary financial statements under FRS 102 Work closely with the Group Tax Manager to ensure transfer pricing rates and entries are reviewed and understood from a subsidiary entity perspective Managing the completion of iXBRL tagging of the statutory accounts Improving the efficiency of the subsidiary account filings, both accounts and tax filings Review new accounting standards and prepare financial accounting papers summarising their impact Assist the local teams with their completion of monthly cash flow reporting and ultimately become involved in the Group review and challenge of the local monthly submissions Support in the preparation of the Group's monthly management accounts Ad-hoc support across other areas of finance (budgeting and reforecasting, one-off project work) Managing the Junior Accountant who will provide direct support for the above responsibilities PERSON SPECIFICATION: Experience & Knowledge - Essential University degree or equivalent, 2:1 or above Qualified Chartered Accountant, preferably ACA and ideally 'big 4' qualified External audit experience on IFRS engagements Ideally experience of working in a Group reporting role Experience of working with overseas teams Multi-company and multi-currency experience Previous events/exhibitions business exposure would be a plus Attention to detail, quality conscious Critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills. Confident in dealing with people at all levels of the organisation Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills An additional language (ideally Russian, Mandarin or Turkish) would be desirable but not essential Motivated, confident, enthusiastic, creative Well organised with a desire to be best in class Hard working - a sense of urgency, but calm under pressure
