Company overview: My client is a leading publishing business here in the UK with over £200 million turnover a year and are currently looking to grow their group finance team. Located in the city, with modern offices overlooking St Paul's. Role: The Group Accountant will support the wider Group Finance function in delivering consolidated packs, statutory accounts and controls across the wider business.

Responsibilities:
Preparation of statutory accounts. Preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts and balance sheets. Variance analysis of the reports and packs against the budget & forecast, with commentary. Preparation of weekly cash flow statement. Analysis of the monthly P&L cost centres. Reconciliations of balance sheets. Business partnering with the Heads of Departments to update and complete policy manuals and guidelines. Profile: Qualified Accountant (ACA or CA). Newly qualified to 2 years of post-qualified experience. Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of accounting software. Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft suites. Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills. What's on offer? 6-9 month contract with an immediate start. A competitive day rate.
