Rutherford Briant are recruiting for a Personal Tax Manager for a regional Accountancy Firm based in Bury St. Edmunds. This is a key role which will bridge between Partners and Junior team members, responsible for your own portfolio manage, motivate and provide training for junior team members. Responsibilities include: Look after a portfolio of clients as agreed with the Tax Partner including large trusts and estates which have newly been brought on board. Self-assessment tax returns for wealthy individuals, partnership and trusts; associated tax computations including CGT calculations on securities chattels and property transactions as well as completion of estate tax returns. Complex aspects of looking after the tax affairs of a variety of high net worth private clients. Review and supervise team member's work providing timely, consistent and constructive feedback on an informal basis and through PDR's. Act as a role model for all team members and delegate responsibility as appropriate. Attend courses and development opportunities as identified and apply knowledge learned. Ensure team members demonstrate competency using systems correctly providing training as required. The ideal candidate will be ATT/CTA and/or ACCA/ACA Qualified with strong experience in managing a team, ideally from a medium sized/Top 100 Accountancy firm. Individuals with no qualifications but a vast amount of experience within Personal Tax will also be considered. You will need to provide technical excellence and be regarded as a competent Manager capable of motivating others, designing and managing efficient and effective internal processes suitable for the team. Specific experience of the following will be highly desirable: trusts, partnerships, employment tax, accounts preparation, claims and elections and residence and domicile experience.
