Payroll Processor and Reconciliation Officer Cardiff Permanent 37 hours per week, flexitime policy operates 28 days annual leave plus public holidays £18,000 pa (full time) Our well-established client is looking for a Payroll Processor and Reconciliation Officer who is able to play a key role with the Senior Direct Payments Payroll Managed Banking Officer, in ensuring the effective day-to-day undertaking of payroll systems and banking reconciliations. Responsibilities:

• Providing effective and efficient payroll services using QuickBooks software
• Providing detailed and efficient daily banking reconciliations
• Report to the Senior Direct Payments Payroll Managed Banking Officer
• Will respond to guidance from the Finance Manager and Deputy Chief Executive
• Will be required to exercise a high degree of professionalism, consistency, accuracy, and confidentiality in relation to the role.
• Will be expected to liaise with staff, clients, HMRC, pension providers, etc.
• Responsible for data collected in relation to access to paper/computerised records containing personal and financial information. Duties:
• Reviewing staff expenses
• Processing 4 weekly payrolls within contracts, as part of a team
• Dealing with timesheet/expenses/pay queries
• Processing new starters and leavers
• Dealing with all aspects of statutory payments and deductions
• Monthly reconciliations of payroll and pensions control accounts
• Monthly reconciliations of payments to HMRC
• Monthly returns to pension providers
• Processing forms for external third parties
• Advising staff and clients on PAYE and NIC matters
• Manual Tax and NI Calculations
• Processing payments by BACS
• Producing and analysing reports Applicants for the role will be able to demonstrate:
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll, ideally using QuickBooks software
• Up to date knowledge of PAYE rules
• Good administration, planning, organising and time management skills with excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with time/deadline awareness
• High level of customer service orientation and able to deal with people at all levels

Where applicable, we must also keep payroll records, holiday pay, sick pay and pensions auto-enrolment records for as long as is legally required by HMRC and associated national minimum wage, social security and tax legislation.
