Our client, a c.£30m turnover subsidiary of an international business services group, is looking for a Financial Controller (or similar) who wants to take on their first Finance Director position. You will lead a small finance team (8-10 people) through a period of change. You will work in close partnership with the Managing Director, Operations Director and Sales Director covering all aspects of finance and strategy for the business. This is an ideal role for an ambitious Financial Controller looking to take their first Finance Director appointment. My client is looking for someone with drive and determination. Someone who is happy to get "down in the weeds" and get involved with every aspect of the finance department. You must be a team leader and you must be passionate about the sector and driving the business forward. This is a "hands on" role where you will be involved in overseeing the day-to-day accounts, budgeting & forecasting, reporting to group, and leading and mentoring the team. You must be knowledgeable in systems / IT - happy to navigate, sort out and remodel spreadsheets on excel. Driven by the goal of providing meaningful management information to the business. Comfortable with rethinking the scope / objectives of the team and different individuals within it. The company has recently been acquired by an international business services group, so this individual will be fully-involved in updating the systems, processes and procedures in alignment with the new parent company. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience working as an FC in an SME environment. No specific industry background is required, but knowledge of the healthcare industry and or staffing / consultancy sector would be advantageous. You will be a strong character who is happy to push-back, debate and discuss different issues within the business. This is an exciting role in an acquisitive business with lots of scope for progression within the group and the parent company.
