Accountant - up to £35,000 p/a - Southampton, UK The Role We are a small but thriving chartered accountancy practice looking to recruit the next key member of our team. As an Accountant, you will have previous experience of working for a UK accountancy practice; we can consider ACA/ACCA/AAT/part qualified. We also expect you to have a background of preparing accounts, corporation tax returns, personal tax returns and dealing with clients. The role is based in our office in Hamble where our friendly team deal with a wide variety of client types. We have a satellite office in Gosport where you could be based part of the time if more convenient, and we can be flexible regarding hours (min. 30 p/w) and holiday for the right person. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and rapidly growing accountancy firm. The key responsibilities of an Accountant include, but are not limited to: Preparing accounts and corporation tax returns Administering payrolls and workplace pension Preparing personal tax returns Tax planning Construction Industry Scheme returns VAT returns Bookkeeping Use of cloud bookkeeping software including Xero and Quickbooks Looking after your own portfolio of clients The Company Accountably are a small but thriving chartered accountancy practice in Southampton, providing a personalised service to local business owners and individuals. The Person The key skills and qualities of an Accountant: Experience of working for a UK accountancy practice (ACA/ACCA/AAT/part qualified can be considered) with a background of preparing accounts, corporation tax returns, personal tax returns and dealing with clients Excellent communication skills are required including written and spoken English A team player but also able to work on your own initiative Highly organised and able to use your initiative, as well as manage your own client portfolio Strong time management skills, able to work to deadlines whilst still taking pride and care in the quality of your work IT literate, being a fan of cloud computing and applications If you are keen on joining this exciting, forward thinking company and taking the next step in your career, then please click the apply now button to find out more.
