Finance Analyst - BT Reporting Bristol Our purpose is to use the power of communications to make a better world. For each other, for our customers, for society and our communities. We need you to help us do this. Why this role matters This role is responsible for key activities around BT accounting & reporting to enable senior management to understand performance. The role involves close interaction with BT Finance Manager Cash including BT balance sheet management and working closely with RP&A teams in India. What you'll be doing BT reporting Ensure the completeness and accuracy of monthly reporting. Managing delivery of core data into financial systems to support reporting requirements including full control check and reconciliations. Ensuring commercial explanations are fully understood for both financial and KPIs. Working closely with BT commercial teams to improve reporting analytics of BT performance. Ownership of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for consumer P&L Focus on ensuring checks and balances are in place for an accurate month end position. Liaising across the business to ensure the balance sheet reflects business and Group finances expectations. Run variance analysis to explain commercial drivers behind forecast variance. Lead balance sheet month end review. Lead business partner across commercial teams and RPA team in India Provide challenge and coaching to key contracts within central finance team to ensure that all deadlines re met and deliverables of sufficient standard. Continually review and evolve responsibilities of RPA team to manage balance of workload across UK and India to enable UK team to focus in value add activities and delivery of insight over information. Support unit finance on any RPA relates queries they have through leverage of relationship with RPA management. Key contact for providing knowledge and context of balance sheet movements, stock queries and TLC/TLR items to consumer consolidation team. We'll also need to see these on your CV Has or is working towards a professional accounting qualification. Advanced financial modelling (excel) skills - ability to build/manipulate detailed models to arrive at appropriate outputs/metrics to support decision making. Communication skills - translating complex financial outcomes to financial and non-financial stakeholders through both oral and written communication. Ability to tailor message to the relevant audience, distilling key messages without losing the appropriate level of detail. Ability to quickly establish credibility and respect and build strong working relationships. Demonstrable professionalism with a proven ability to operate in a complex, fast paced matrixed business environment. Able to identify issues, get to root causes through the use of financial analysis and insight to diagnose and solve problems. Able to deal with ambiguity, identify resources to implement and determine pragmatic solutions. Bias towards bold and confident thinking, challenging the status quo where appropriate. Patience and experience of navigating large, complex organisational structures. Experience you would be expected to have Experience within a finance function. Experience within a large (FTSE100 size) organisation. Demonstrable experience of driving positive changes within organisations. Knowledge of Hyperion required with Horizon knowledge being a benefit.
