Financial Controller Firefly are working exclusively with a rapidly-expanding, private-equity backed SME in the technology industry, to recruit a dynamic and hard-working Financial Controller into their growing finance team, which is driven by a proven successful entrepreneur. The company operates in several geographies including UK, North and South America and Australia, and is maturing, with an increased demand for products across these locations. The company's revenue has doubled in each of the last 2 years, providing significant opportunity for M&A activity for the successful individual too. Following appointment of a CFO, there is now a need to build a more experienced finance function that can continue to support and control the business through this growth. This new role will support the CFO and exec across all areas of financial management and control. Responsibilities include: To ensure all Group reporting is of the highest standard and prepared in an efficient and timely manner. The Controller will be responsible for firstly building and then preparing all monthly management accounts. Work with the team and CFO to implement scalable process and procedures to enable the business to scale quickly. Production of the Annual Report and Accounts, including working with the auditors to achieve clean sign off. Able to deal with issues arising from rapid growth and be the key contact for resolution of any material reporting matters. Ensure compliance with the Company's accounting policies and procedures Initiate projects to develop, refine and/or optimise business processes and reports to adjust to changing business needs Manage and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closes through the Company's SAGE System. Implement cash management and forecasting processes. Implement Treasury management processes and policies. Build a Tax strategy and Transfer Pricing strategy. Own the Legal Entity structure and ensure fit for purpose as business grows internationally Work with the CFO in preparation of Board Papers and any other ad hoc papers as required Assist with the review of potential acquisition targets and post-merger integration projects The ideal candidate would be: ACA Qualified Accountant with at least 5 years PQE Self-starter who 'wants to make a difference' Thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment and strives for continual improvement. Ability to resolve problems and issues and make recommendations to CFO on all Financial Reporting and Control matters. Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Previous Sage experience would be beneficial. Previous experience in a fast-growing tech company would be beneficial. Previous M and A, PPA and group consolidation experience essential. Proven team leadership skills. Technical accounting excellence (US GAAP & IFRS). Demonstrable experience in managing complex accounting and control environments and building teams through rapid growth Strong interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively in a diverse team environment An understanding of and experience with process improvement to increase efficiencies in all aspects of the business - knows what good looks like and how to implement it Strong ethical behaviour, with the ability to demonstrate conducts conforming to a set of values and accepted standards Good project management skills, needed to upgrade systems, teams and processes
