Here at wilko our Finance team are looking for a Finance Analyst to join them on a 12-month FTC, the role is based at our Head office in Worksop. The Role As our Finance Analyst you'll will support the Operational Accountants in providing accurate and timely reports to the business and on occasion will directly support the Finance Manager and Head of Finance for Financial Control. Here are just some of the things you'll be involved in The role is responsible for the timely and accurate production of reporting on areas including but not limited to: service charge, landlords' insurance, rates, gas, Retail & HO overheads, misc income/services, training & personnel spend and personal expenses. Ownership of these cost areas within the periodic management accounts including analysis and commentary on period and YTD performance against budget and forecast, for presentation to management. Periodic balance sheet reconciliation Preparation of accruals and prepayments for period end for a variety of spend types, including asking detailed questions to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the P&L is maintained. Use of various systems including SAP, Peoplesoft, TM1 and Business Warehouse to extract the information required to produce the above reports. Timely and accurate production of daily, weekly and periodic reports. Resolving any queries relating to the reports on a timely basis. Assistance with the timely and accurate production of the year-end accounts in accordance with accepted accounting practice. Provide assurance to management and auditors over approach and methodology with regard to year end processes. Preparation of forecast and budget data for relevant areas of responsibility including liaising with the respective departments Support the Senior Finance Analyst with the rebates checking process to ensure that rebate recognition rules are adhered to and sufficient evidence is provided for the auditors. Provide financial support and analysis for ad hoc activities. Identify and implement controls to manage risks, both financial and operational. Continual review of financial control processes to improve efficiency and quality of output. What we need from you We need someone who is AAT qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA or CIMA. We need this along with Proven experience in a large corporate environment. Experience of cross functional working. Excellent Excel and analytical skills. Ability to analyse data accurately and quickly. Good attention to detail. Ability to work quickly to tight timetables whilst maintaining the integrity of work produced. Ability to recognise potential problems and identify proposed solutions. Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, in order to effectively engage a wide range of stakeholders. Ability to network and build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Ability to prioritise to plan and manage multiple tasks.
