Distinct are proud to be supporting a well known consumer brand based in the East Midlands in their search to identify a suitable candidate to join the Finance Leadership team into the role of Head of Finance - Financial Controlling & Reporting. Not for the feint hearted, you'll join at a time where change & transformation across Finance as a whole is a top priority. As such you'll have the opportunity, as well as doing your "day job" to apply yourself to a wide range of value add projects. As Head of Finance - Financial Controlling & Reporting, a leader within the business, you & your team will be responsible to ensuring the ongoing preparation and presentation of all financial & statutory accounting & reporting, including Tax & Treasury management & compliance as well as leading the banking / AP department (overall circa 20 staff). The business adopts a culture of ongoing improvement and getting the job done, without making things over complicated. In your role as Head of Finance you'll be required to demonstrate your prior experience as a strong leader, easily able to share examples of where & how you've influenced, supported and developed people around & in teams that you've led. It's assumed you'll be a qualified accountant (likely ACA / ACCA, CIMA will also be considered) with an extensive background in roles centred around Financial Accounting / Reporting / Controls. You'll more than likely have gained your experience to date in fast paced, demanding businesses, the nature of which means that trading conditions can be potentially volatile. As previously mentioned, solid experience leading, developing and enhancing the careers of those teams reporting into you, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with a varied set of stakeholders (up to Exec level) will also be essential.
