Evans Jones Associates are thrilled to be recruiting for Senior Qualified Accountant for our client based in Swansea. Staff Responsibility: Develop an effective working relationship with clients and staff Seek opportunities to expand and share knowledge Keep direct supervisor up to date with progress/issues Be proactive about own learning and development Seek feedback on personal performance and areas for improvement Overview of position: Responsibility to deliver all client's projects including related audits, accounts, corporation tax and personal tax. To actively role model expected and acceptable behaviours in line with the Firm's values and build positive relationships with clients and staff. Key Deliverables: Operational -Planning the audit, including the preparation/updating of the permanent file and briefing the team. -Attend pre-audit planning meetings with clients. -Preparing the audit working papers and budgets. -Undertake the audit ensuring that jobs are completed on time and within budget. -Completing the audit programmes. Where applicable, contacting the client to arrange the timing of the assignments and attendance at stocktakes etc. -Produce reports highlighting issues and providing potential solutions. -Active engagement with senior staff to gain a good understanding of the business. -Supervise, coach and develop junior members of staff within teams -Manage a portfolio of clients -Preparation of financial statements -Preparation of Corporation Tax or Income Tax computations and returns -Provide advice and training to clients when required -Carry out specialist work, such as due diligence or company valuations, when required Engagement -Supervise, coach and develop junior members of staff within teams, on client premises and in the office -Work with managers and L&D to ensure your training needs and, where appropriate the training needs of others are identified and met -Ensure lines of communication within the organisation are open are always transparent -Develop a professional and supportive approach to your fellow colleagues -Throughout your time with the firm, live our values in everything you do -You will be expected to ensure that all key deadlines are always met -Report to management on all assignments as required Compliance & Governance -Ensure that all key targets are always met -Continually embed the key strategic objectives of the Firm: embedding excellence, enabling growth, create the future -Ensure your CPD, technical and overall training is up to date and maintain an in-depth client and industry knowledge -Ensure continual smooth flow of work complying with all processes and procedures. -Ensure that any identified training programmes are adhered to We will -Support you to develop specialisms including audit sectors -Help you to continually develop your business and tax advisory skills -Provide access to extensive online learning resources and CPD providers -Provide training from inhouse specialists -Provide full support and sponsorship for approved qualifications and training This post requires you to be able to travel to Client premises and so you must hold a current UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
