A Senior Data Analyst is required to work within a leading retail centric business, joining a highly dynamic and data driven commercial analytics team. The business has placed a huge emphasis on the use of analytics and data focused insight to drive commercial thinking - including but not limited to; analysis and forecasting of revenue, scenario modelling (product), propensity & predictive modelling (customer). Comfortable with managing, mining and interrogating large commercial data sets the senior analyst will also contribute to wider analytical projects and support the overall commercial business plan by delivering outstanding data expertise. Along with BAU and ongoing strategy work, the senior data analyst will be happy to support adhoc project work, applying analytical science to make sense and solve problems that will ultimately enhance commercial performance. This will involve supporting initiatives and functions across the business, including CRM, marketing, finance, products, insight and pricing. Key accountabilities of this role are Develop an improved analytical capability for the commercial team to support complex business initiatives Use data analysis to drive profitability of customers / products / services Interpret data and analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems that support commercial analysis and performance reporting. Liaise with key stakeholders to understand business goals and identify analysis projects that support these goals. Deliver analytical findings to senior stakeholders to support commercial thinking. We're looking for someone with the following skills, knowledge and experience Several years' experience of data analysis in a high data volume business A record of turning analytical insights (revenue/customer/product) into actionable solutions Experience of analytical tools & methodologies - Advanced MS Excel ideally statistical programming capability (preferably SAS, SQL, R) Experience of multivariate and predictive analytics techniques Experience of building analytical reporting frameworks to support commercial & business reporting Ability to work on and co-ordinate multiple projects.
