Overview Must be a U.S. Citizen The Finance Intern will be a key contributor to the finance organization. Successful applicants will be exposed to the many facets of the Finance organization and specific job assignments will vary based on overall need across the different functional areas. These may include business/product line finance, commercial/sales finance, corporate financial planning and analysis, financial accounting, and financial systems. The internship is designed for finance and accounting undergraduates who have a strong interest in Finance and desire to be hired into the Akamai Finance Development Program (AFDP) upon graduation. Interns who exhibit strong financial acumen as well as the potential for future success within the Akamai Finance organization will be considered for the AFDP program. The AFDP program is a three-year early career development program that combines rotational job assignments with targeted training and development, Akamai specific seminars, and FP&A certification coursework all designed to advance individual productivity, business acumen, and resourcefulness. The summer internship program runs from May 26th, 2020 through August 14th, 2020. As a Finance intern, your job responsibilities may include Assist in monthly/quarterly financial reporting and in-depth customer/product analysis. Assist in the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and outlooks, resource planning analysis, and quarterly forecast updates. Assist in generating business presentations for Senior Finance Management. Perform ad-hoc financial analyses/reports and provide analytical support as needed. Identify process improvement opportunities and gain support. Perform industry analyses to educate the organization of best practices. Required Education and Experience Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in a related field and returning to the program after completion of the internship. Available to work during the 40-hour workweek. U.S. Citizenship required Required Skills Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration and returning to the program after completion of the internship. Minimum 3.0 Grade point average (on 4.0 scale). 0-2 years of academic experience in a financial analysis or similar role. 1 years academic experience with data modeling. 1 years academic experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Desired Skills Intellectual curiosity and a desire to be challenged. Relevant internship experience. Aptitude and desire to learn financial systems. Ability to prioritize work deliverables effectively to deliver accurate results in a timely manner. Ability to work with data sets across the business and transform into actionable analytics. Strong attention to detail. Self-starter who is able to thrive in fast paced deadline driven environment. Flexible, adaptable and geographically mobile.
