Platinum Group Metal Services (PGMS) is one of four businesses within the Efficient Natural Resources sector that manages, distributes, refines and recycles precious metals and fabricates products using precious metals and related materials. The business unit also manufactures platinum group metals, minor metal compounds, organometallics and fine metal powders for high technology applications, as well as providing a range of management services for platinum group metals. PGMS has manufacturing operations in the UK, US and China and sells to key markets globally across Europe, the US, China and India. Key responsibilities Support the Financial Accountant's focus on Group and local control & compliance regarding the completeness and accuracy of Financial Reporting. Ensure and understand there are robust and effective controls in the business to safeguard the assets of the shareholders Support the Financial Accountant in meeting the monthly Group and local statutory reporting deadlines, routine statistical enquiries and tax compliance. Input to and the implementation of finance and business strategies to promote sustainable year on year profitability growth Responsible for monthly accrual preparation and posting, preparing of key balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring appropriate supporting documentation, preparing the monthly operating reports (MOR). Awareness and understanding of all general ledger, treasury and compliance issues Supporting the Financial Accountant in the proper maintenance and control over the variance company profit and loss accounts and balance sheets. Compliant with internal and external rules and regulations. Responsible for developing and maintain appropriate Standard Operating and desk procedures for their respective work areas. Are you the ideal candidate? You will: Knowledge of ERP (SAP) or similar systems Studying towards a Professional Accounting Qualification/ or relevant Experience Strong background in effective controls and governance frameworks High level of numeracy, working with systems and data. Understanding of good governance control mechanisms and effective process design Key knowledge of cost accounting/financial accounting and processes in a high controlled environment -Desirable An ability to provide innovative solutions to problems - Desirable Experience of structured problem-solving techniques such as Six Sigma and Lean - Desirable
