Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking for a new role within a well-established accountancy practice? If so, we may have the perfect opportunity for you at a highly professional accountancy practice in Weybridge. This role could be full or part time, although, if part time, it would a minimum of 22 hours per week. Due to the need for consistency, hours will be agreed upon and set. Reporting to the department Manager, your duties and responsibilities as Bookkeeper will include: Bookkeeping for multiple companies including, sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, expenses, company credit cards, petty cash and intercompany Processing various types of foreign currency transactions and reconciliation of foreign currency bank accounts Providing additional services to clients who have outsourced their accounting function, including raising sales invoices, credit control and dealing with supplier / employee payments Management accounts including prepayments, accruals, depreciation and all balance sheet reconciliations Preparation of VAT returns Dealing with foreign invoices, EC acquisitions, reverse charge adjustments and EC sales lists Providing ad-hoc assistance directly to clients in relation to their bookkeeping and VAT matters We welcome applications from experienced bookkeepers with the following skills, experience and attributes: Full understanding of double entry bookkeeping and management accounting, with experience gained in a practice environment Good understanding of VAT rules and procedures relating to output VAT, input VAT and foreign transactions Good experience of using Sage 50, Xero, QuickBooks Online or similar accounting packages Use of MS Office packages to intermediate level, including Outlook, Excel and Word Good understanding of spreadsheet formulas and ability to apply them correctly to new and existing spreadsheets Confidence and ability to deal with a variety of clients (both UK and overseas) with differing procedures and requirements Ability to manage own workload and keep a record of time (via timesheet system), prioritise work and manage client and partner expectations Foresee potential problems and act accordingly to ensure deadlines are met Excellent communication skills and be able to write clear and concise letters / e-mails in accordance with clients' knowledge and understanding of accounting Excellent attention to detail and presentational skills to ensure that all information sent to clients is accurate and well presented Preferably live locally The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary and benefits, have a varied workload and enjoy a supportive and friendly working environment.
