This profitable international Construction, Design & Engineering group, t/o £2bn, operates through several key operating divisions and specialises in the design, planning and maintenance of some of the world`s most iconic buildings. Enjoying continued growth in recent years, the business has ambitious plans to capitalise on this success. As a result of an increasing number of projects, the group is currently seeking a qualified accountant to undertake regional Finance Manager role supporting operating units in Devon. Joining initially on an interim basis and supporting a key specialist division, your broad and varied brief includes:
• Assisting with development & management of business unit Finance team of 4
• Monitoring of business unit results against forecasts & providing variance analysis for review
• Providing support for rolling quarterly forecast
• Review of full balance sheet to ensure reconciled & identify potential risks
• Support the mobilisation of new contracts and the implementation of systems
• Ensure financial processes are adhered to & identify improvements in processes & systems
• Review & challenge Project Financials at Project forecast meetings for small divisions
• Review of VAT returns, PSA & other tax returns
• Production of monthly management accounts in accordance with internal & international accounting policies
• Oversee control recharges to contracts & Joint Ventures
• Management of accounting systems
• Management of interim & year-end audit process
• Provide year end statutory information to Group Finance As a qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, you will ideally demonstrate strong project accounting, W-I-P/WIP, financial analysis, business partnering and month end reporting experience gained within a commercial business environment. As a self-motivated, proactive individual with evidence of influencing senior management, you will be an energetic individual with the ability to challenge the status quo. The role will be based in Exeter with some travel around other sites in Devon. The role is being offered initially on a temporary basis with the potential to become permanent.
