A Top 10 firm of Accountants in Manchester are currently recruiting for an experienced VAT Manager to join their team as a result of the growth of their client portfolio. There is an opportunity for progression to Director level within the firm. • To act as a key point of contact within the firm for the client, together with the Partner. This will involve responding quickly to, as well as anticipating, client requests/needs, keeping clients informed of progress in relation to all aspects of the service provided, and maintaining regular contact with clients.
• There will be an expectation that you will take full responsibility for project delivery on their portfolio.
• Manage a portfolio of clients including control of billings and cash collection within the firm's criteria.
• Help to grow the practice by proactively identifying selling opportunities. Review of work prepared by more junior members of staff
• Liaise with HMRC and other stakeholders
• Ensure assignments are completed within agreed budgets and keep client/Partner /Principle informed of overruns and plan staff assignments in order to give an appropriate spread of experience.
• Identify risk, quality control and technical matters to the Partner/Principle/ Senior Manager, whilst exercising judgement within agreed parameters. An in depth and maintained knowledge of Tax and staff management will be required alongside demonstrable experience for the position including any professional qualifications that may be appropriate If this role isn't quite what your looking for then please contact me directly on for further information on opportunities in Practice across the North West.
