The FP&A Analyst is responsible for supporting the annual planning and rolling forecast cycles for the SHL General and Administration (G&A) Businesses and providing analysis and insight on the business performance against those plans with regular and timely reporting. This position is critical for the Business to develop and manage robust and deliverable plans and hold functional leaders in the SHL business accountable to those plans. To be successful in the role, the FP&A Analyst will need to have a high attention to detail and be able to informatively present and communicate information, outside of the task orientated accountabilities outlined below. The Role: Planning You will support the team with the build and roll-out the budget/forecast planning models to the G&A functional leaders, in accordance with the planning timetable. You will support the leaders in accurately modelling their plans through analytical review of their plans and reconciliation of the budget data loaded into the ledgers against the planning models for their area of responsibility. P&L & Cost control You will carry out a monthly PO review to identify costs that need to be accrued in the functional areas for which you are responsible and a monthly P&L review, investigating variances to budget/forecast and advising the accounting team of any required accruals, prepayments or adjustments. You will provide meaningful and action oriented monthly P&L variance analysis to function leaders. highlighting material structural cost concerns. Reporting You will provide support to team in production of the regular board reporting packs and other ad-hoc reporting as required. You will take ownership of capital expenditure reporting and analysis and manage other ad-hoc finance projects as required. It will be essential in this role to build strong relationships with all stakeholders both internal (to the team) and external, fostering the culture of open relationships and of playing the role of key Business Partner. You will be required to Constantly review and challenge to all existing processes and identify processes that are either redundant or open to improvement. What are we looking for? To be successful in this key role you will be a qualified accountant with a recognized professional accounting body (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), although a part qualified accountant would be considered if you are continuing your studies. Ideally you would have some previous experience in a Finance role, ideally some planning and analytics experience. You will have excellent communication (verbal and written) and relationship building abilities and will be able to present information clearly and concisely. You will need to have the ability to manage and sometimes challenge the expectations of stakeholders in a very busy role and be happy to pick up the phone and sometimes have difficult conversations. You will need strong analytical, planning and organization skills and a drive to deliver results and meet customer expectations and achieve your personal and work goals. You will need to be able to priortise tasks in an environment where priorities often change at short notice. You will also have experience with MS Excel and other MS products. What SHL can offer you?
